| About the Inn...
The structure now used as the Inn was originally a two-bedroom cedar shingled cape in a spectacular salt marsh setting. In the 1950's the sisters added four side rooms to the home to accommodate frequent guests and to earn a little money by renting to area visitors. By the 1960's new owners began operating the building as the Lighthouse Motel and eventually five more units were added to accommodate an expanding clientele. Over the years the building has been operated as the Scorton River Motel, the Seven Brothers, and the Spring Garden Motel. During the 1980's the then owners modernized the facility and decorated the rooms with cozy country inn charm. Rooms in the old house were converted for guests and two efficiency units were added |
About the Location... The Spring Garden Inn is in an ideal spot on the quiet side of the Cape. Located on Route 6A in East Sandwich, and you will discover why this road (Old Kings Highway) has been identified as one of America's 10 most scenic highways. The Town of Sandwich established in 1637 is the oldest on the Cape and is rich in colonial history. Across from the Spring Garden Inn on this winding country road sits a Revolutionary War era working farm complete with animals, rail fences, and a farmers stand with fresh produce. On the Spring Garden Inn side of the road is the solitude of our 11 acre grounds overlooking a tidal sanctuary. Breathe in the fresh salt air and relax at the end of your busy day just gazing at our rejuvenating sunsets. |
